in Quakenbrück, wurde daselbst am 12. 11. 1873 geboren. Er trat als ungedienter Landsturm am 8. September 1916 mit August Siemer, Essen in den Heerdienst, kam nach Kleve und wurde dort beim Ersatz Battailon (1.Kompanie) Landwehr Infanterie Regiment 55 militärisch ausgebildet. Später
diente er in Halle (Saale), Münster Wettringen (Josephshaus) und Hörstel, Kreis Tecklenburg. Er mußte Gefangene bewachen und Gefangenentransporte
vom Balkan zu den Bestimmungsorten Dortmund, Essen/ Ruhr, Gelsenkirchen,
Borkum und Friedrichsfelde begleiten. Am 25. Juli 1918 wurde er von der
Firma Cloos in Wetzlar zwecks Arbeitsaufnahme im Calhorner Holz reklamiert
und von Münster entlassen. in 1916.1 He was milit see Exhibit between 1916 and 1918.2 He was Picture in front of the old house on the Kirchstraße probably made for their son who was in Elbing at this time. in 1932 at Essen. He died on 17 April 1949 at Kirchstrasse, Essen, Cloppenburg, Oldenburg, Germany, at age 75. He was buried after 17 April 1949 at Essen, Cloppenburg, Oldenburg, Germany.

These records also claimed that he lived in Buer with his brother (teacher there) and learned the trade of bookbinder in while in Buer. in 1822. He was Bookbinder & Citizen in Cloppenburg circa 1830. He witnessed the marriage of Freiherr Erich Alexander Christian Joseph von Geismar Herr zu Stockum and Catharina Auguste Charlotte Hämmerer on 29 September 1833 at Gut Stockum, Bissendorf (Kirchspiel), Bissendorf (Amt), Osnabrück (Fürstbistum), HRE/DEU; The marriage entry claims both witnesses (brothers of the bride) to be teachers and that Christian Friedrich is from Buer and Christian August from Lüstringen. Frederick St, Baltimore.1 Johanna Christina Henrietta Hämmerer married Hermannus Henricus Antonius Winkes on 3 September 1863 at Essen, Oldenburg.2 Johanna Christina Henrietta Hämmerer Johanna came to America in 1865 and joined St James parish in 1866 in Baltimore where she remained until her death at 956 Aisquith Street. It would seem that she came while already married and with a small female child named Antonia. There is mention of Anthony Winkes, son, on her death announcement from Brooklyn. Anthony seems to live at 958 Aisquith on the 1910 & 1920 Census She is running a bookstore in 1910 and claims to have had 6 children w/2 living The other son seems to be Fr J Schagemann. in 1865. She immigrated on 2 November 1865 to Baltimore, MD; The obituary and other sources all claim she came to Baltimore in 1865. There seems to be no proof of this anywhere. There is no entry in the federal passenger lists and now none in the Baltimore City Archives Passenger Index for Schagemann, Winkes or Hämmerer.

But there is an entry for Wienkes on the ship ANNA.3 She witnessed the occupation of Hermannus Henricus Antonius Winkes in 1871 at 290 Aisquith St, Baltimore, MD; Bookbinder via Baltimore City Directory.4 Johanna Christina Henrietta Hämmerer married Johannes Hermanus Bernardus Schagemann on 23 September 1873 at St James Church, Baltimore; His birthplace is listed as Alphhausen/Hannover and her's as Kloppenburg/Oldenburg. Both were widowed at the time.5 Johanna Christina Henrietta Hämmerer witnessed the death of Johannes Hermanus Bernardus Schagemann on 8 July 1892 at 956 Aisquith St, Baltimore; A doctor F. A. Varner of 1133 Valley St was the attending physician signing the death certificate. Occupation at time of death was given as Book Agent.
Residence in the city as 50 years and the primary cause of death as Inflammatory Diarrhea with the immediate cause being peritonites.
(In modern terms this is called diverticulis. These are little outpouchings in the colon which become inflamed (itis) and when one breaks, the feces in the colon come in contact with the peritoneum which is the sack the gut lies in and when this becomes inflamed and infected one dies without if antibiotics aren't available.)

This certificate carries Permit No A-48740 in Ward 5. His widow Johanna survived him.6,7 Johanna Christina Henrietta Hämmerer died on 23 August 1919 at St James Church, Baltimore, MD, at age 81. She was buried on 27 August 1919 at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.

I now have the birthdate directly from the baptismal entry 7/27/03.2,3 He was baptized on 10 August 1814 at St. Johannes, Alfhausen, Bersenbrück, Landdrostei Osnabrück, Königreich Hannover.4 He immigrated circa 1842; Up to now this is an assumption based upon his death certificate which claims residence in Baltimore for 50 years at death. He may have lived elsewhere in the US before that. He did marry M.E. Sachs in Baltimore in 1843 which says something.5 He married Maria Elizabeth Sachs on 24 October 1843 at St James Church, Baltimore, MD; The Marriage Ledger at St James lists Bernhard from Hannover and Elizabeth Zach from the Oldenburgischen (area of the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg). There are no witnesses listed.6 His Ancestral File Number is Applied for Naturalization. DIUSCC, PM #2 Folio 495.      Rev Joseph Joachim Schagemann He apparently served at St Mary's in Buffalo in 1919 and earlier at St Boniface in Phila. He was buried at Saratoga Springs, NY. He Father Schagemann was the founder of the (Brooklyn) Mother's Guild He celebrated his 60th (Diamond Jubilee) anniversary in the priesthood on Aug. 2, 1956. He left a prayer book which he inscribed as the first communion book of his mother (inscribed at her death by him) to my father. The book was published in 1862, too late to be a 1st Comm. book of his mother. Perhaps his own? He was baptized at St James Church.1 He was Priest. He was born on 4 April 1876 at Baltimore, MD. He was also known as Rev. Joachim J. Schagemann; Don't know if this use of name was just a mistake or what.2 He died on 12 April 1961 at Saratoga Springs, NY, at age 85.

There seems to be no proof of this anywhere. There is no entry in the federal passenger lists and now none in the Baltimore City Archives Passenger Index for Schagemann, Winkes or Hämmerer.

A loving, caring person, she enjoyed doting on her family and dear friends.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 59 years: Dr. Richard Nadeau; one daughter: Karen McCamant and husband Kevin of Washington, DC; two sisters: Arlene Welch, Clare Sherlock and one brother: Elmer Parent; four grandchildren: Ian McCamant, Amanda Nadeau, Emma McCamant and Monica Nadeau; and her daughter-in-law: Angela.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son: Richard G. Nadeau, Jr; and two brothers: James and David Parent.

Memorial service will be held Friday, September 2, 2016 at 11:30 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 10:30 am until service time.

Private interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dover, NH.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be sent to Cecil College Foundation, Cecil County Library, or NEVFC, in care of the funeral home.
